Wasting your days.
Chasing some girls boys all right.
Chasing cocaine to the back rooms of the world all night...
I almost typed ‘story of my life’ but then again, I don’t want to weird you out and have you thinking I’m desperate. Desperate for luuuv. Which is, like, totally not the case. IT IS NOT.

But I wouldn't mind either. That's why I should stop listening to this and start listening to something hardcore whatever. And snap out of it. GEEZUS.

Destroyer

(Disclaimer: Writer of the above does not know how her mind goes from a lyric to a rant about being pathetic. Unconscious hint? We think so too ;))

Sooooooo… hello. I’m posting too late; it’s getting a habit. A really bad one. I’ve been up for 2 days straight now, with 3 hours of sleep fitted in somewhere, a lethal action for my already screwed up sleeping pattern. But I’ve handed in all my school projects today so if everything goes to plan I’ll be back to regular posting tomorrow. And yes, I changed the date of this post again; I am that much of a control freak.

And now, ladies and gentlemen, the actual post.

It's not new, but it's what kept me awake. Spastically jumping around. Enthusiastic aahaahaah-ing. Amazing air drumming. Now isn't that a lovely mental picture?

BLUB BLUB BLUB... (My sense of humour suffers from a condition called sucking big time these days.)

Friday, 21 January 2011

Hello. My name is Lisa, I change the date of my posts so it seems like I haven’t missed a day and I don’t even feel guilty about it. I am also drowning in schoolwork. Help me please.

Ever made a kinetic typography animation? No? Let me tell you: it makes your brain go to little insignificant blobs of grey mass containing nothing worth sharing but this track.

Snake! Snake! Snakes!

Toro Y Moi releases his second full-length album Underneath The Pine on the 22nd of February.

3 things: the battery and the charger of my MacBook Pro are dead, there are no more chargers in stock at the store where I can get a new one for free (warranty so such) and PC’s are a like a maze to me nowadays.

BUT ANYWAYS, I watched Mermaids yesterday; now that’s a movie with a great soundtrack in my opinion. Sixties goodness in overload coming up!

Same old situation: I find a song I really, really like but nothing’s to be found on the artist. Not even Google was a big help this time. Here’s what I do know: Slime is Will Archer and Vondelpark is a no-one-knows-his-name Surrey-based producer. Who what does in 2 players is a mystery.

Neither have a website or a myspace.

I saw these guys about two months ago in Ghent and they were fantastic. This is one of my favourite tracks. It’ll be featured on their upcoming EP What a Pleasure.

(My exam went great by the way! :))

Sunday, 9 January 2011

It is the most beautiful day we’ve had all year (all nine days…), but I decided to post a song that has about 20 times the word rain in it. Guess I won’t have to wonder why when it starts pouring later on.
Also: wish me luck, I have a semi-nerve-wracking exam tomorrow on the history of typography.

I have an exam on Monday so I should be really busy studying and all that, but somehow I still manage to find time to watch movies. Disney movies to be more specific.

Click here for better quality, couldn't embed that one.

Oh Disney. Good thang I ain't six no more brah, that’d have scared the bejeezus out of me f'true. See, I watch a movie set in New Orleans and my slang adapts right along, wutsapnin?! ;)

I felt like posting this track today, but I was afraid you’d all go “but, that’s like, old...” with a confused look on your faces, trying to grasp why on earth I didn’t post a cooler (Oh boy) song, then leave and never ever come back again. So I thought about posting it this weekend, you know, with the weekend being reserved for Golden Oldies and all that. But no. I came up with something better. A compromise if you will.

BAM – The Pandit version. Enjoy.

And yes, I know that Nico didn’t write this song. It’s by Jackson Browne. But I just like Nico’s version better. Not that I’m not impressed by the fact that he wrote the thing when he was only sixteen… so here you go:

P.S.: Ramble, ramble. Same old, same old. Sorry!

Wished it were July already, so I could make this my summer song. I love the bass in this… seems like I’ve spotted another weakness. Bass guitar. (And bass guitar players – Oliver Sim: damn you boy.)
